Green sand (with regenerator)
Green sand is a catalyst type media. When iron (Fe) and/or manganese (Mn) are in contact with the media, they are oxidized and stick to the media (see preoxidants)
General conditions for use:
- Removes iron, pH minimum of 7
- Removes Mn, pH minimum of 8
Note : In most cases, an oxidant supplement, like chlorine or air, should be used to increase the effectiveness of the green sand especially if the pH levels haven't been met. It is preferable to use an oxidant to complete the system.
Maintenance :
- Periodic (by the customer): Adjust the oxidant levels on a monthly basis. If chlorine is used, permanganate can be added once or twice a year.
- Annual (by a qualified technician) : It is necessary to clean the head and injectors once a year.n www.inversand.com
