Laurentides-Lanaudière Filtration (Water Treatment)

Water treatment - Problems with your water? See solutions to common problems!

Laurentides-Lanaudière Filtration (Water Treatment) is specialized in everything that concerns the filtration (water treatment) in the Laurentides and Lanaudière sector: Neutralizing filters, Ion exchange filters, Water softeners, Catalyst Filters, Green sand, Nanofiltration, Reverse osmosis, Ultraviolet radiations, Membrane filtration, Preoxidants.

Since the Wakerton scandal in Ontario, the population is generally more informed about the components of its drinking water treatment plant. However, many still neglect to regularly analyse the water for bacteria (at least once a year) at their own risk. Water containing bacteria can be very noxious. But thanks to chlorination treatments, ultraviolet rays and membrane filtration, bacteria can be eliminated.

The ultraviolet lamps are very compact and require little maintenance : simply change the light bulb once a year. They are very good at killing bacteria but do not address any color or odour problems. Rain water is almost the same thing as distilled water : it hardly has any properties. When it hits the ground, it will absorb the properties of the first elements it comes in contact with. Sometimes the water accumulates too much iron, sulphur or other elements found in the soil. It develops a bad taste, a strong smell and can even stain your clothes.

By installing the appropriate system, we can successfully treat most of these problems. We will complete a physical/chemical analysis of the water to evaluate its component. We will use the analysis to conceive the appropriate filtration system. Ideally, a filtration system with a backwash and the appropriate maintenance will last a long time.

If you have hard water (you must add more soap then usual), a water softener will be the solution for you. These systems work with resin beads or zeolites and are recharged with a brine from the salt reservoir. There are many types of salts. Some contain additives that can damage the resin beads.

Ask a professional retailer about the type of salt you should use.
